Some Misc Stuff

  • This is a writing/worldbuilding site. I'm making this as my own personal escape that I want to share with people so someone else might also get some joy or escape too. IRL politics and events will likely not be discussed.
  • Relating to the above point, I will likely never outright state any political or personal opinions/views. Yes, you will likely be able to determine a few of my political and personal opinions/views based on my writing as my bias will likely show. With extreme exceptions, I don't want my personal opinions/views to taint or ruin my writing/worldbuilding for others.
  • OCaK is intended for mature audience. I am an adult and I'm writing what I would like to read so mature themes and topics will be written about. Content/Trigger warnings will be utilized as needed.
  • I’m gonna do my best to refrain from making small, one-off world building posts. Especially if these small one-off posts don’t really add anything to the world…Yes I am referring to a thing some publish author(s) do/have done. If I ever do make one of those types of posts, it would likely be a collection of small one-off world building info that are “soft canon”. I.E. ignoring them or pretending they don’t exist won’t impact your knowledge of the OCaK lore. Think of those posts as a few extra sprinkles on top of a cupcake that already has sprinkles. Does it add to it? Sure but the chances are those few extra sprinkles aren’t gonna change your enjoyment of that cupcake…Unless you hate sprinkles, then I’m sorry.
  • Just because I intend on a character, scene, or event to be read and understood one way doesn’t mean I’m going to say anyone is “wrong” for interpreting those differently. And just because I post something doesn’t mean it has to be your “canon”.

Some potential questions:

  • I use Obsidian.md for majority of this and OCaK's projects. I have separate vault's for both and store info like:
    • Character Profiles
    • Worldbuilding/Lore
    • Story/Plot Planning
    • A bit of writing (though I do have a bit of a preference for using Google Drive occasionally)
    • Meta items (my internal reasoning for worldbuilding or plot points, brainstorming, figuring out what I want, etc)
  • I also been using Campfire Writing but that's more of a "secondary wiki".
  • I use ProWritingAid for writing for grammar and a bit of spelling. I occasionally use the re-write feature for a few sentences here and there and I'm interested in their manuscript review but haven't used too much of their AI features beyond those.
  • I likely won't join any webrings or make a webgarden. I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable with my usage of AI in their circles/communities. Love looking at a few though!
  • Related to the above, I'm honestly not sure if I'll post many other locations. I do plan to make a Youtube Channel in the future for worldbuilding and a bit of writing/character content but I'll likely keep myself a bit separate from online communities. Both because I know my usage of AI might make people uncomfortable but also been frankly a bit tired for years (before AI as it is today was even a realistic thought) with active interactions with online communities. Probably could be a rant post somewhere about it but I'll leave that as it is for now.
