Hiya! Thanks (or sorry, whichever one you prefer) for stumbling onto my "Of Courts and Kingdoms" site! Based on how you got here, you may or may not know what this site is for or who I am but I'll lay it out here.
I'm B.L.Richards, owner of this site and aspiring writer. Feel free to call me B.L.R, B.L.Richards, or (a bit easier) "Blur" (since that's kinda what B.L.R. sounds like when said as a word and it's one character off from being the same). Blur is also the name of my persona/avatar I’ve made for my worldbuilding/writing stuff!
Offline, I have a degree in technology and work in that field. One of my final projects in one of my college classes was to make a website and, while frustrating, it was also enjoyable. I've wanted to make a site for a few of my previous writing projects but due to situations, never was able to fully get there. When I stumbled here and saw the amazing sites I could potentially make, with amazing people providing additional resources, I took the leap and made this site!

That page lays out how, where, and why I used AI in my process. I'm planning to add another page with pictures and videos involving my usage of AI, including what I specifically mean when an image is "AI Assisted". If you're turned fully away from the idea of anything being AI, please head out now, no hurt feelings, and I genuinely hope you find something to enjoy!
Also, sorry if you find any typos. I work on this site in Visual Studio Code and was a bit delayed in realizing VS Code doesn't have a spell checker. I added a spell check extension but there might still be a few things missed!

What in the world is "Of Courts and Kingdoms"?
"Of Courts and Kingdoms", or "OCaK" for short, is my own fantasy project set in the fictional world of Vitallis. For literally decades, I've loved writing and worldbuilding fantasy stories/settings, be it through original works or fanfics. However, I often grew frustrated with myself whenever I wanted to write original works that were something a bit different than what I was currently working on. I didn't want to have to make a whole new world just because I wanted to write about a different couple or write about pirate instead of royalty. A bit silly mindset but that's how I thought. So I would end up with "Fantasy World A: the Royalty One" and "Fantasy World B: the Pirate One". And then proceed to never do anything with either of those worlds after writing the bare bones idea I had in my head.
I can't remember the exact origin of OCaK but I think it was roughly that I had 3 ideas of different stories that ended up being 3 of the 4 "main" stories/books of OCaK and realizing I could...just make one world and put these stories into them. Mind blowing revelation, I know. I named "Of Courts and Kingdoms" somewhat as a placeholder but it eventually just stuck and I grew attached so it's what I call this fantasy project today!
What's the plan for this site?
I really want this site to be my main "hub" to do with everything from my OCaK project. That will include:
- Character Profiles
- Wiki Style Pages For:
- Magic System
- Cultures
- Countries
- Flora/Fauna
- Etc./Others
- Stories/Fictions
- Blog-esque Posts

I thought about spreading this around across different sites. I even had all of my main/primary characters profiles created on Toyhouse. However, I also really liked having one hub of a site where someone could go to and get all the information they needed about OCaK. I also liked the idea of having more flexibility and freedom to customize how I wanted things to look.
I'll likely still set up other social medias, if not just to have an "official" account. I do hope to make video format content eventually but that's likely a bit down the line.
